Fingers Crossed

Walking that Horizon between Life and Death,
Oblivious to the vilest poisons in that fragile vial of fate
Fighting forever in vain, the walls of the bony box
Looking for the faintest signs of light in cramped darkness
Struggling powerlessly to be free from the cage,
